We are currently looking for a skilled eBike Mechanic to join our Michigan-based team.
Job Summary
As an eBike Mechanic at FutureEV, you will be responsible for assembling, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electric bikes and their components. This role requires hands-on mechanical expertise, basic electrical knowledge, and a passion for e-mobility solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical & Electrical Work
Assemble new electric bikes according to manufacturer specifications
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues (brakes, gears, chains, suspension, wheels, frames)
Troubleshoot electrical systems including motors, controllers, displays, wiring, and sensors
Perform battery testing, installation, replacement, and safety checks
Maintenance & Quality Control
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on eBikes
Ensure all bikes meet safety and performance standards before delivery
Test ride eBikes after service or repair to confirm proper functionality
Customer & Team Support
Provide technical support and service recommendations
Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair needs and timelines
Work closely with warehouse, sales, and support teams
Documentation & Inventory
Maintain service records and repair logs
Track spare parts usage and report inventory needs
Follow workplace safety procedures and best practices
Required Qualifications
Proven experience as a bicycle or eBike mechanic
Strong knowledge of bicycle mechanics and electric bike systems
Familiarity with motors, batteries, torque/cadence sensors, and controllers
Ability to use diagnostic tools and standard bike repair equipment
Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with major eBike brands
Basic understanding of lithium-ion battery safety
Previous experience in a bike shop or service center
Certification in bicycle or eBike repair (a plus, not mandatory)

Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
